British or Americanish
Some Britishisms entering American English are vogue words
and catchphrases this is because there was no American word/expression with
that specific meaning.
English language has been spoken and developed for 1400
years.
‘English is the most widely spoken language in the United
States and is the common language used by the federal government, to the extent
that all laws and compulsory education are practiced in English.’
This statement shows that in the United States the language
spoken is English it is also referred to as American English; this is because
some words are said in an American accent and few words are changed to fit the
thing that the people are talking about. This shows that Americans want to
express themselves with their own language however it’s English that they are
using but with different vocabulary to fit their needs.
‘The first wave of
English-speaking settlers arrived in North America during the 17th century,
followed by further migrations in the 18th and 19th centuries. Since then, American
English has developed into new dialects, in some cases under the influence
of West African and Native American
languages, German, Dutch, Irish, Spanish, and other
languages of successive waves of immigrants to the United States.’
This proves that Americans
speak English as known from history American English has developed after the 19th
centuries. Many people immigrated to America and learnt English and later on
developed to learn American English which is the same but with different
accents and few words to try and mirror a new language.
Britishisms vs Americanisms
Many Americanisms are
same as Britishisms but with a different spelling or accent when said. For
example:

Some people love Americanisms, like
slangs because they think its cool and different also in their opinion there is
beautiful phrases that also help them give voice to their feelings.
Some people who are against
Americanisms think there is no point in it and it can cause trouble. Some also
think its disrespecting the English language. Few people are hostile about
Americanisms and the phrases they use such as “reach out to you” and “can I get
a regular coffee”.
In my opinion different pronunciations
of words and phrases are interesting it also shows multicultural people
speaking the same language in their unique way. This is important in my opinion
because the more people in the world with different languages and pronunciations
of same words in English language or other languages gives more personality and
more interesting people in the world.
Americanisms are an interesting way to
express yourself while using English language. Using different words to
describe the same objects in Britain and in the United States shows how
different names represent the same object spoken about.
The girl on the top of this post
thinks that in the United States everyone speaks Americanish and that’s the
most important language because in her opinion it’s the future of the world.
Her name is Pupinia Stewart. Therefore she thinks that American English
is her own unique language and the words and phrases she uses are American not
English so people who don’t understand her they should learn Americanish.
In my opinion English language is used in America so
Americans shouldn’t try to take away the English language from the British
because it’s rude. ‘American language’ doesn’t exist its American English that
they speak in America.
